MBA for Professionals in Education
The Master of Business Administration is one of the most sought-after degrees across every industry. Its flexibility and cross-disciplinary courses in business allow graduates to learn and build knowledge on leadership, organizational structures, accounting, finance, strategy – and everything in between.
The MBA for Professionals in Education is an innovative and unique degree program designed for current and future leaders to make impactful and transformational change in education.
Whether you currently work or are aspiring to work in public, private or nonprofit educational organizations, one of the goals of the MBA for Professionals in Education program is to bring together cohorts of like-minded individuals hoping to make a difference in our New Mexico community.
During this two-year program, you will develop a deeper understanding of organizations, collaborate with colleagues, and grow as a professional to achieve positive transformation in schools, universities and nonprofit education organizations.
The start for the next class of students in this program is moving to Fall 2021 (previously a summer start). Structure is also shifting to an eight-week hybrid format. Students will focus on one class at a time, attending class online and meeting once a month as a cohort.
This change allows us to integrate professionals pursuing their MBAs from industries such as health care and technology into core MBA coursework. It will provide students the opportunity to meet and learn from other professionals in New Mexico and share their expertise in education with others in the program.
Another new benefit is pairing students with an expert in education to help with guidance and mentorship throughout the program. This professional in education will connect the business language with the education language and support students’ career goals throughout the two-year program.
We understand that many of us live very busy lives. We’ve taken that into consideration and created a program that is structured for the busy professional.
Learning, knowledge, and ideas shared through a combination of on-campus and online classroom experiences enhance your educational experience.
Courses Offered in Hybrid Format
The hybrid model allows for true flexibility while maintaining focused education one class at a time. The cohort will meet online weekly and once a month on-campus. Each class is offered every 8 weeks.
Professional Development with Team Building Integration
We set you up in small teams within your cohort to be your support system throughout the program. We will pair you with a professional coach who is an expert in the field and will connect the business language with the education language to support your career goals. Career development workshops will help you take your career to the next level.
After graduating, you will meet the requirements for Educational Administration Licensure and School Business Official Licensure in New Mexico.
Information about the curriculum will be posted soon.
