Parking at UNM
When is my permit valid?
Your permit is valid on class days starting at noon and on non-class days starting at 3:45 pm.
What is the 3:45 Rule?
The 3:45 rule allows a permit holder to park in any available space at a surface lot that is not an accessible parking space, reserved space, pay station space or structure space after 3:45 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Where can I park?
You can park in the Yale Parking Structure (third floor and above) and any surface parking lot that is not designated for the dorms (D and R lot). You cannot park in any reserved parking space (unless you have permission to), accessible parking space (unless you have the appropriate placard to) or metered space (unless you’re paying the hourly rate for it).
Does PATS monitor parking lots on the weekends?
No. If you would like to park on campus during the weekend, you are welcome to do so. PATS does monitor pay station spaces (including parking structures), reserved spaces, 'R' lot and accessible parking spaces. Any surface lot with available spaces is able to be used.
What if I get a ticket?
Please appeal the ticket through the Parking & Transportation Services website. If the appeal is not approved, then you must pay your ticket or your account will accumulate holds which will delay registration.
